It is true that Gaming Tokens are no longer being produced, but that doesn’t make them any less collectible than chips. I would imagine the majority of chip collectors are looking for the older chips, rather than any new ones currently being produced. The same goes for gaming tokens, the older ones are the ones most sought out. I really don’t care if Gaming Tokens is part of the club name or not, however I do not think that we should limit ourselves to a name containing only casino chips, as has been suggested by others. If you were to walk around the convention floor, I’m guessing that at least half of the things for sale were not chips. Ash trays, pictures, silver strikes, gaming books, matches, slot cards, room keys, decks of cards, and even gaming tokens. ‘Casino Collectibles Club’ takes everything in consideration.
An additional note concerning gaming tokens, I sell a fair amount of tokens every month off of my web site, and I would guess that Wendy from BV Coins sells just as much or more. There are currently almost 10,000 items listed for sale under casino tokens on eBay. So, to say that gaming tokens are a thing of the past is clearly not the case.
