For some reason this situation has caused you to make assumptions about a club that has nothing to do with it.

I am sure Andy has a lot of hobbies and activities he like that you do as well.

You seem to forget that some of our members volunteer time at soup kitchens, and donate to the military and American Cancer Society. Those are great things but I wouldnt say that a reason I would join a club.
I have heard this argument a few times now and it seems absolutely ludicrous to me.
There are a lot of reasons to either join a club or resign from one.
Not liking a person that just happens to be a member and is not representing that club, is not a reasonable one.
Just saying.
