Hi Doug, first let me say I am honored that you want my opinion Mr. President as that means a lot to me.
Now my opinion on your post is simple. I Hi Doug, my opinion on your ED post is simple. I care about our club and our hobby and our members. I understand other hobbies are going through declines as well but we need to stay focused on what is best for us. I'm with you on the fact that many others deserve to be paid as well but that is unrealistic. But I think a knowledgeable hardworking representative that supports, promotes and markets our club in a full-time capacity with a social media,internet and technology based background would benefit the club. Now to pay for is another story. I could be wrong but I think the club would be willing to support this ambassador of the club/hobby. I think many would support this hire and would help by donating chips and items to be auctioned off to help fund the position. Something along the lines of 50-50. If the position is paying 30,000 then members donate 15k and the club pays 15k. Something along the lines of 50-50. I myself would like to put it to a vote. I would start by guaranteeing the club $1,000 in value of my own chip collection to get it started if this position was approved. I'm sure all the members could donate about $20 dollars in chips each to make it happen and the club would be taking very little risk with the potential of making this club stronger and better then ever.
