- Offer a discounted membership rate for the 1st year to any first time members of the club. It is possible that a discounted rate would get people who are on the fence to give the club a try and hopefully fall in love with it as most of us have. This offer wouldn't be good for any renewals, is only good for the first year, and wouldn't be available to anyone who has been a member in the past
- Add a list of resources and related websites to all of the main collecting pages. These could include links to all websites that sell casino chips, related information, collecting supplies, reference materials etc... I think that having all of this information in one place could really help new collectors, people with minimal interest in the hobby, seasoned collectors, and the people who run all of the websites. If we could have this added to all of the main sites like the chipboard, CC>CC, chipguide, poker chip sales websites, other message boards, etc... it would really help people out and bring more attention and knowledge to the hobby
- Possibility of using the Las Vegas Advisor or American Casino Guide for advertising purposes. It seems that these would be great advertising tools for the club as the audience already has an interest in gaming. Also, I may be wrong but I believe we have a collector among us who had or does have ties to the Las Vegas Advisor. Possibly we could have our club featured in there Question of the day column or an article posted on the site for people to read about who we are and the hobby. Also, what about putting coupons in the 2 coupon books for discounted admission to the convention or to other Las Vegas shows or discounted membership rates for the club?
- How about periodic updates from the BOD about different things that are being discussed (or have been discussed) and some of the background work going on that most of us never know about. I think some people have a little bad taste in their mouth about the BOD just because we don't know what is going on. Also, many people seem to feel that their ideas and suggestions are never talked about by the BOD because we never hear anything after the initial suggestions are made.
- Create a mobile app for the chip guide so it is always handy for collectors on the go. Also, it may not be possible but an awesome feature would be if you were able to click on the chips that you have and have the information stored so you can keep track of what chips you do / don't have while on the go. It seems like this could be a tool that would be helpful for almost all collectors.
- Have another price guide published or republished like the US casino chip price guide by James Campiglia. The Chip Rack is awesome but it would be really nice to have another book with pictures and other states. This would especially be helpful to attract newer members since so many are very visual people and seeing what your talking about is really important.
- I know that it was recently mentioned that the BOD met during the convention to discuss club business and new ideas. In the future, would it be possible to announce when the BOD will be meeting so people have a chance to bring up suggestions or ideas that could possibly be discussed?
Again, these are just a few more ideas that popped into my head. Not all of these would have a large impact on attracting new members but they could help in retaining current members just by streamlining things. Thanks, Dan R-8220
