This page was made by a Cuban guy who lives in Cuba, Luis Diaz I believe, and who has the largest Cuban collection of chips in the world. He also has more knowledge than most about the chips and origin. Most of it is from old stories, and NUMEROUS magazines & old newspapers from the 1910's to 1960s. Not much research on the more difficult areas partly because as a national, has limited access to certain libraries or sections of these where he can go to get info, which is open to some of us, non-nationals (fair, right!?). So nobody better than him to have such a site.
The sight is excellent but....... Every so often the USA closes it down because of the "Embargo" unclear rules for weeks, months and almost a year not long ago. When is up for a while, he charges to enter to specific areas, or a membership. Quite steep for somebody who is just looking for info but as a member is quite reasonable. I have been a member since they opened it and pay every year, but close must of the time. I do not know if at present he is charging or not. Since I am a member I enter without problems but cannot tell about the rest. Still well worth it!!
This is probably the only real source of info regarding Cuban chips available right now. Almost anything you need to know is there, but need to learn how to look for it. If free right now, anybody interested in anything Cuba Casino should go in. You can spend hours mesmerized by all the info and pictures.
Great pick up Roy!!
