Just some thoughts about location. We have to be located where the dealers are going to come. They are the backbone of the convention. In terms of NYC, we are not large enough for most of the hotels there to give us a second look. But what if we modify the days? Someone mentioned we would not have the week-end, but the convention ends on a Saturday each year. I don't have attendance numbers, but let's assume some of the people who attend a separate auction event earlier in the week are in town. Our convention banquet is on a Wednesday night. Would it be feasible to move the banquet to Tuesday night? Then there are less week-end days (1 vs 2) to negotiate with a hotel (either SP or one on the Strip).

What I love most about these discussions is the passion. As long as we have passion, we will forge ahead!
