THE "DI" ROULETTE CHIP...

reminds me of how I got mine; in the '70's I collected mostly design clays (and ivories when I could afford them which I mostly couldn't). Went to the Pasadena monthly Rose Bowl show with my two reluctant kids; wandered around finding little until I came to booth where a woman had a dusty carousel of 150 or so ugly chips: numbers & DI on them. One of my kids spotted them (and got 50 cents for the find); the woman wanted $10; so tho I didn't really want them but hadn't found anything else, I bought them. Took them back to NY with me and put them in my closet. In 2003 or so when I was by then collecting casino chips, found the set, covered with more dust and spider webs--looked; thought: "D.I." could that be the Desert Inn--it was and I sold most of the 150 over the next few years averaging $15 each! vbg
