Based on the plaque info & date, it was made for the original MGM Grand in Las Vegas -- possibly a VIP gift?

The lion statue appears to be similar to a bronze walking lion sculpture made by French sculptor Antione Barye
(google his name and lion sculpture and you'll see some pics).

No idea on value, but a nice collectible for any MGM specialists, IMO.
