Re: Reverse side - Boardwalk Casino

First, I would like to thank everyone who has replied and especially Archie for all his help in trying to identify this chip for me.

Now the story as provided by Paul McDonald, so special thanks to him as well.

HI SEAN- I DO KNOW THE HISTORY OF THIS CHIP.THE BOARDWALK CASINO STARTED OUT AS THE MONOPOLY CLUB WHICH WAS LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MCDONALD LAKE IN AMARILLO ABOUT 1972.IT WAS A DINE & DANCE CLUB (NO CHIPS)THE BOARD WALK CASINO BOUGHT THE MONOPLY CLUB AROUND 1974 AND ALSO HAD DINING & DANCING.THEY INSTALLED ONE CRAP TABLE IN THE ENTRANCE AREA.CUSTOMERS WOULD BUY $5000($100-$500-$1000 CHIPS) FACE VALUE IN BOARD WALK CHIPS FOR $10 AND SHOOT DICE.IF YOU WIN $50,000 IN CHIPS -YOU GOT A FREE DINNER WITH DRINKS.THE LAKE FLOODED IN THE LATE 1970'S AND WIPED OUT THE BUSINESS'S ON THE SOUTH SIDE.THE BIG TEXAN RESTAURANT IN AMARILLO HAS ABOUT THE SAME DEAL.THEY HAVE TOURNAMENTS EVERY WEDNESDAY WITH CHIPS AND THE WINNER GETS A FREE CRUISE OR SIMILAR.THE BOARD WALK CHIP OR THE BIG TEXAS ARE NOT ILLEGAL CHIPS.PROBABLY MORE AN ADVERTISING CHIP.HOPE THIS HELPS.
PAUL

Thanks everyone.
