Hwy. 66 on the way to Laughlin, Nv. 75 miles west of Neddles, Ca.stopped at the gas station for cold drinks many times. Often visitors from Europe stopped at the only Gas Station/ mini store in Amboy for Route 66 trinkets. Only gas station for many miles, sign on door when closed, call this # will be down in 10 mins., gas available 24 hrs. In the 50's a great Movie called "AMBOY" was filmed there, and the Hwy. Patrol car used in your picture, was used in movie, high speed chase after robbery, also old motel next to gas station used in movie, been closed for 15 yrs or so, Hwy. Patrol Car on display for many years after movie, but gone last few years. Before freeways route 66 only road to East to West going to Ca. via the southern route. Thanks for picture.
