The Napa Valley bad beat story...
When playing no limit poker there basically when you sit down to play you can buy up to the biggest stack. If someone has $2,000 in chips, you can buy in for that.( I am not a big stakes poker player at all. ( max buy in would be $200...used to be) Most people buy in for $100-200 and they used to have a feeder table with a must move or quit policy. They now only have the 1 no limit table and sometimes its not running.
Anyway... a guy moves in from the smaller table and looks around and want to buy for the biggest stack ( he had about $150 brought in from the other table) The biggest stack is around $1200, so he adds $1050. I only remember 4 hands that were in play. (1 I never saw, but another player confirms)

Lady to my immediate left is #2.....................$440 about
The big buy in guy ( his very 1st hand ) #3....$1200
A guy who claimed he had K10 of clubs #4...don"t remember

I have JJ....Its a 1/2 game and raised to $25 preflop. 4callers...flop 9 4 J ( Rainbow ..J was club) I bet $60 and am raised all in by #2 Lady ($440?)...#3 goes all in($1200)..#4 folds...I call..($850)****I realize some of our $$ was in preflop**** We all flip over our cards I have trip J's...the lady #2 has QQ and #3 Mr. Big buy has AA. ( i don"t blame either one for there actions. I would of done the same. I'm ahead...the turn is a Q of clubs (2nd place now, but can break even because my stack in twice hers) River A of clubs...WTF??? I lose it all because he got to buy in for the biggest stack... dumb rules!! I was just extremely unlucky!!! And the K10 clubs guy #4 folded what would of been a Royal. So, I don"t play No Limit there anymore...I do at other places.
