I REMEMBER TRAVELLING DOWN OLD HIGHWAY 91 WEST OF LAS VEGAS AND STOPPING AT THIS TINY TOWN FOR A COLD DRINK. SLOAN NEVADA HAD A SMALL MOTEL COTTAGES, A GAS STATION, A SMALL BAR WITH 3 SLOTS, AND A LITTLE CAFE SNACK BAR. MOSTLY THE LOCALS AT THE MINE ACROSS THE STREET WOULD PATRONIZE THE PLACE WHICH WAS LAST OWNED BY DALE HAMILTON WHO ALSO OWNED A CHEVRON OUT AT PRIMM (STATELINE). THERE USED TO BE A BIG OLD DOUBLE DECKER GREYHOUND BUS WAY OUT BACK ANS SOME SINGE WIDE TRAILERS. THE HELP LIVED IN THEM AND COULD JUST WALK TO WORK. ANYTHING FROM THIS TINY TOWN IS RARE AND VERY HARD TO COME BY... IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION OR STORIES ABOUT SLOAN I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM POSTED! IF YOU RENT THE MOVIE 3000 MILES TO GRACELAND ... YOU CAN SEE THIS SMALL TOWN .... THE FILM COMPANY PAINTED THE BUILDINGS ETC. TO MAKE IT LOOK OPERATIONAL. THANKS FOR VIEWING .... RICH BURGEL
