First of all I'll mention that I enjoy all these vintage Vegas photos. I remember that they didn't level the Marina. It was reduced to a steel skeleton and then incorporated into the new MGM Grand. I wondered at the time whether that was to save construction money or whether there was some sort of advantage to classifying the project as a remodel rather than new construction.
