"Chip service collecting ain't chippin!!"
Those of us who live out of Nevada would have no way of gaining access to all the new releases if it were not for chip services. I cannot afford to come to Las Vegas every time a new chip is released. So, economically speaking, it makes sense to use chip services. I think the prices most chip services charge are very reasonable for all the crap they have to put up with.
You may call them pieces of plastic, but, that is your opinion and I respect it. However, my opinion is that they are little pieces of artwork which I like to collect. One should not put anyone down for the types of chips they prefer to collect. If everybody liked the same thing, they'd only have to make one chip. Now that would be a boring collection.
The reason this hobby has experienced such a rapid growth in the last couple of years is due to LE chips.
I, started with LE's and now collect older chips as well. If it had not been for the LE's, I would have probably not given chip collecting a second look. So, in my opinion the LE chips have had a dramatic impact on chip collecting.
I love this hobby and have met many nice people through the BB. It is nice to have an open forum where our opinions can be expressed.
Just expressing my opinion while sitting down here in Texas depending on chip services
