Main Street Station (1991 - 1992) was opened and owned by an Australian bloke (his name is out there somewhere) who offered a peculiar wagering game called "2 Up" or something similar to that. (I am checking the info I got.)
The game involved a Dealer with a wooden oar and 2 coins, in the center of a ring of counter top. Players (betters) were sat at the outer side of the ring. The Dealer would flip the 2 coins into the air and they would land on the floor. Bets were made as to 2 coins face up, 2 face down or 1 up and 1 down. Evidently the game flopped.
To perhaps explain why there is no currently known $1 chip for this Main Street Station (which used the Chipco N1892 (Rosey O'Grady's $5) N6859 (Apple Annie's $25) N0568 (Cheyenne Saloon $100) and N0564 (Lily Marlene's $500), is that the owner tried to keep things at a high price. If you were playing $5 blackjack, you were allowed draft beer. $25 players were allowed premium bottled beer. Evidently, the business failed in 1992 and Boyd Gaming acquired the property, but...
Only the hotel was used. The casino was closed and not used until 4 years later and Boyd opted to re-use the Main Street Station casino name, and added the brewery! This is all according to a long time, Boyd Gaming employee, who has been with Boyd prior to the opening of the Main Street Station casino under Boyd and was part of the Opening group in 1996.
And now you know the rest of the story!
