My US GOLD $5 for your chips
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST!
Let's have some fun!
I am offering up one $5 US Gold coin (1/10 ounce) for trade. The coin is in beautiful shape and looks to be MS-65 (see photos and judge for yourself as I am not a professional grader).
I am looking for obsolete small town Nevada, VEGAS, or hard to find Wisconsin/Colorado chip(s) in return.
Here is where it gets fun...I am a relative newbie to collecting chips. Its hard to find someone to trade with here in west central Nebraska, let alone find any chips to add to my collection. So what I ask, please post your trade offers directly on this thread. Educate me and other newbies as to why the chip(s) you are offering would be a good addition to my collection. Keep it simple, no need to write a dissertation about the chip(s), but teach me and other newbies some casino history. IT could be the chip(s) you offer were buried and found years later (I received a travelodge chip from the club with my membership, it is one of my favorite chips in my collection do to it's history). It may be a casino burned down or maybe the casino was open only for a couple years? I want to know the story behind the chip! If you don't have a story to tell, no big deal, just tell me its a cool chip!
I am a weird collector as I really don't mind chips in used condition. I like the "weathered" look. However I would rather not receive severely damaged chips unless there's a cool story! In addition, the 2012 Gold coin you will receive typically sell for ~$150 or more on ebay. I would like at least that value in return. I realize some chips may "book" for xxx amount, but give me the true market value! When responding to my post, please include pictures and your proposed market value of what you offer.
I will make a decision this Friday evening after 9 pm CST. I will email the "winner" then. I WILL mail the coin with insurance, tracking and through US priority service, please show the same courtesy. This is a trade, so if I determine that no offers are interesting, then there will be no trade.
The winning trader will not necessary be the one that has the greatest value, prominence of the chip is BIG for me! Lastly, I would love to own a chip from the Atomic Club or from the Greyhound Casino in Nevada!
Any questions please ask...and sorry if this is a dumb idea!
