Well Jim, I can't top that very humerous story, but here's hypothetical situation that might trigger a casino to invoke their right to claim chips in a collector's pocket.
Let's say a bunch of us at the convention decide to go to one of the smaller casinos that has quarter craps in the non-peak hours. For instance, Casino Royale has/had 25c craps with 2 craps tables in the joint. We all buy-in for yellow chips and manage to get nearly all the 25c chips in our possession, with the intent to pocket a few stacks each and scurry out the door. Unfortunately, if successful, this would leave Casino Royale without enough 25c chips to run the game until they could reorder. (I'm assuming that they don't have multiple back-up racks in the cage of these 25c chips.) If some of said chippers didn't make it out the exits quick enough, and security guards detained them, I bet the casino would ask (demand) that they not leave the premises without cashing in their quarter chips, citing the gaming regulation in this thread.
Whaddya think?
