The House Quinella.
½ the place price X the win price = House Quinella payoff. Then for each $2 wagered multiply ½ total bet X payout.
Most Las Vegas racebooks offered a House Q up until the mid 90's or so.
Now all the racebooks no longer book their own bets..pari-mutual sheep..
