I have read with interest the various recent posts on chip storage options/solutions, and thought I would share mine. I only collect $1 chips from US card rooms and casinos and have my 1,400 chip collection divided into 10 cigar boxes based on geographic region. The boxes hold from 120 to 220 chips. It can be time consuming to locate a specific chip, but I generally enjoy handling them and don't mind sorting through. This method avoids the problems of shifting chips around in a binder when new items are added, and the best bonus of all - I actually play poker with them from time to time with my kids. I guess I view them more as live usable objects than artifacts to be stored in plastic rings or binders.
