I have a question that someone might be able to answer. Perhaps it might even shed some light on problems with using plastic pages for storing chips. I do not know if it applicable here but as a photographer I know that there are problems with soft plastic pages and storage of photographs. The problem is with acid in the chemical composition of the pages. The acid deteriorates the paper causes yellowing of the paper or film and can cause shifts in the colors of the photographs. The question here is, Could it be that some of these pages may have acid in them that is causing harm to chips? Are the pages that are mentioned "ACID FREE". Don't know if it is as important with something as durable as coins but seems to me that softer, clay, plastic or composite chips could be more suseptable to damage from acids. And, while on the subject of plastics and chips, Anyone know of problems with storing chips, long term in AirTites with the foam rings? I have chosen, and at some but not alot of expense, to store my chips in AirTites with the cardboard/velvet holders and in the boxes that are designed for them. Take up more space but seems safer and better protected.
