Being one that has never been looting before, I didn't know if there were any written set of rules.

The last thing I would want is to look foolish if I were ever to decide to go looting my first time.

Can a person loot day and night? - Or are there posted hours like only 5PM-11PM?
I am usually tired after a long day at work so I would probably need to wait till the weekend.

Can I only loot certain items like Electronics & Liquor? I don't really need a new TV but I could use a new pair of shoelaces and a nice toothbrush (I like medium firm)

Is it all you can carry on only one trip ? Or is it more like a buffet where you can go back as many times as you like?

How long after an event like a hurricane, are you allowed to loot? 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month?
Remember I don't want to look foolish looting 8 days after an event if the standard looting timeframe is 1 week
