Gaming Today magazine is free and available in almost every sportsbook in Nevada. I collected chips for ten years before i ever knew there were shows until i saw an advertisement in Gaming Today for the national convention at the Riviera in 2006. Also, Card Player magazine is just one of many publications available for free in almost every poker room in the country. Those may be good places to advertise. I am a dealer in vegas and i know several co-workers who would attend if there was a Friday night session as well, say 7pm - 10pm. I believe Doug Saito floated that idea in the past.
