Over the past few years I have returned 1000's of chips back to the casinos. But there's three types of chips that just never seem right trading back in:
1) There's fractional chips... Hardly any casinos use them any longer and they are like the penny. That is, they cost the casino MORE to make than the face value of the chip itself.
2) Chips that even though they are still live are definitely worth more on the secondary market than their face value. Chips like the $1 Mandalay Bay Chinese New Year chips or certain Hard Rock chips for instance. It just doesn't make since to cash them in.
3) Lastly, uncirculated $1 PaulSon chips. Gaming supply stores sell them for upwards of $1.60/each so returning them for an even buck gives me a sick feeling in my gut.
So it's for this third reason that I am looking to unload these 196 uncirculated PaulSon Four Queens chips. In 10 minutes I could be at the cage cashing them in for the $196.00 face value but in this condition they belong in the collections of chippers not on the crap tables downtown.
I broke the chips into four groups, something affordable to everyone.
The first group is 100 limited edition chips, all with the same edge spots so they could be used in your home game if you'd like. They are broken down as follows: (25) July 2000, (25) October 2000, (20) Happy New Year '04, (10) Cuatro Reinas, (10) Vier Koniginnen, (5) Millennium and (5) Real Millennium chips. The price is $125.00 ($1.25/chip) for the group + $6.00 Priority Shipping.
Group #2 is for 50 uncirculated house & limited edition chips, all with the same edge spots, broken down here: (9) fourqueens.com, (8) Real Millennium, (7) Vier Koniginnen, (7) Christmas, (5) Cuatro Reinas, (4) July 2000, (4) no-line, (4) October 2000 and (2) Happy New Year '04. Price for this group is $67.50 ($1.35) chip + $6.00 Priority Shipping.
Group #3 were the chips modeled after the casino's first edition arodie chip. There are 40 chips in all. (29) of the house mold and (11) of the hat & cane mold. You can own these chips for $56.00 ($1.40/each) + $6.00 Priority Shipping.
The last group is just six different limited edition Four Queens chips. You can put all six of these different uncirculated chips into your collection for just $10.00 ($1.66/chip) + $2.00 shipping.
Now if no one else makes a claim on one of the four smaller groups before you ask for all 196 chips they are yours for just $235.20 ($1.20/each) + $11 Priority Shipping. But this offer is off the table as soon as someone requests either group #1, #2, #3 or #4 before you ask for the "whole enhilada" package.
