Cindy bought her fathers 1923 Model T roadster years ago and the plan was I was going to restore it. We got as far as getting it stripped down to the under frame and getting the under frame sand blasted and repainted. After it sat a few more years we decided to just have a pro finish it. We took it to him and explained what had been done so far and what else was needed. After he had it a few months we decided to see how it was going. When we got there a guy was under the car with a piece of sandpaper sanding the paint off of the almost bare steel under frame. Boy was I pissed! Turns out he charged us for 40 hours (at $40 per hour in the early 90's) to repeat the work I had done. That is about how much I lost when I sold the car 5 years ago.
