....and if you couldn't handle what you saw around the SLS, you might want to make this your last trip here, because what you complained about???? It is everywhere on the Strip, sadly enough.
The homeless and/or panhandlers are on every corner and pedestrian bridge. A quarter mile off the Strip any direction? run down, boarded up businesses or "low rent" apartments.
I know that the city you wanted to see is now a fairy tale of the past, and you ventured past the glitzy false front, and saw reality. It makes me sad also- I came here almost 5 years ago now, and the Las Vegas I wanted to live in was dead by the time I was 15, but there is still enough here peeking through if you know where to look to give you a glimpse of the past.
You just happened to stay in a hotel on a 'island'... in the middle of anything that is/has been remodeled anytime recently. Give it a few more years and the North Strip may well look just the South Strip.
