This, on the heels of them selling off Railroad Pass, seems to be MGM cutting loose of their "red head step child" casinos- the ones they never advertised along with all the glamorous big name joints, nor ever did anything to improve, nor even wanted you to even know that they owned them.
They closed and mothballed the main, taller hotel tower over a year ago. Gold Strike is actually a very nice, old style Vegas casino that has the misfortune of not being IN Vegas but stuck between it and the State line.
