Even scarce or uncommon chips don't really come up enough to know an accurate value, unless you watch for a long time. I often come across chips I have never seen sold or only before the economy collapse (so the old sale price is basically irrelevant). At this point, for many chips, it's basically, "what is it worth to you?" Some prices have held up, but it's very inconsistent. I can imagine in some smaller countries, there is no information to go on at all.
