When sending money to a different country, it seems to take longer to complete the transaction.
Paypal needs to convert currency (into pounds, in this case) and there are also international currency transfer regulations.
I know U.S. banks have additional steps on foreign remittances, and Paypal is the same.

Just be glad you aren't trying to send money to Russia, with the recent sanctions. I hear it's a real headache.
