The Paige Model 6-66 was initially built as a seven-passenger
touring car. In 1921 a stripped-down Paige 6-66 broke the world
speed record at Daytona, achieving a speed of 108.5 mph. The
company built the Daytona Speedster models in recognition of
this great feat. The sporty two-seater Daytona Speedster was
fitted with more comfortable seats, individual fenders, a proper
windshield, a folding top and other comforting accessories,
including a drawer-style occasional third seat. Even with fully
body equipment the new Daytona Speedster could still achieve
well over 80 mph.
