I don't know. I don't usually clean our chips...but I have cleaned a few. And I've used a little oil on a few of the ones I've cleaned...so it's possible (though not probable) that's what happened. (It's also possible that it was cleaned/oiled before we got it).
Other than one red chip from the Crystal Bay Club, at Lake Tahoe, I think this is the first chip I've had bleed that wasn't a red chipco.
