Fred:
If you are traveling west on I 40 and get to Albuquerque, NM there are several casinos in and around Albuquerque. The Downs at the race track on the State Fairgounds, Sandia, north on I-25. Santa Ana Star in Bernalillo (about 13 miles north). If you continue north on I-25 there is the San Felipe/Holllywood and near Santa Fe there are 3 more casinos, Buffalo Thunder, Cities of Gold and Camel Rock.
When you leave Montrose if you take 550 south to Cortez, CO or Farmington, NM I think they have a little casino in both places. Not sure about Shiprock, NM but if you continue south on 666 there is a nice little caino east of Gallup, NM on I-40.
Twin Arrows is a relative new casino near Flagstaff, AZ on I-40. Be sure to sign up for a club card and get your free play.
I like the little town of Cripple Creek, Colorado. Several little casinos there and just a short drive to Victor to see a working Placer Gold Mine and a quaint little gold rush town. There is also the Molly Kathleen that has tours thru the mine (1,000 ft down).
If you make it to Black Hawk I would be willing to trade for a $2.50 and $5.00 chip from the Saratoga Casino.
Have a safe and fuln trip. See you in Las Vegas.
