New collectors in this hobby are oftentimes "misled, fooled, and disappointed" when they learn the true value of such casino chips, unfortunately this is usually after the fact once they've made an uninformed purchase using these guide prices as reality rather than the inflated, unrealistic state of the hobby that they portray.
