Resort Wrold seems to be moving forward

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Nevada gambling regulators have recommended a gaming license for a Malaysian conglomerate that hopes to build a $4 billion Asian-themed resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

The recommendation for Genting Berhad came Wednesday at a Nevada Gaming Control Board meeting. The matter must also pass through the Nevada Gaming Commission later this month.

Genting officials say they plan to break ground this year on Resorts World Las Vegas, which would incorporate 80 percent to 85 percent of the buildings in the stalled Echelon project on the tourism corridor's less-traveled north end.
