I just spent 30 minutes and found lots and lots of information on Milton Israel. I might have to write up an IOTD for it.

For now, these chips were used at the Buckhorn Bar located at 8 S. Main St (Israel lived upstairs at 8-1/2). The Buckhorn took some pops for gambling. By 1949, Israel is tied to the Diversion Club, a private club housed inside the public Colonial Club in Helena. The authories thought this private/public line was too blurred and kicked down the door and confiscated the equipment. The case went all the way to the state supreme court.
