They thought of Slew like he was their child.

My GM at the Palms looked at me like I was crazy when I told him I was flying to Lexington, KY to attend Seattle Slew's funeral.
Slew's entire body was buried. Usually they only bury the head and hoof's of a horse.

Slew's statue stands at Hill and Dale Farm in Lexington.

Mickey and Karen and I became friends. They lived in the Sun Valley/Ketchum, ID area. They were a lot of help with the research I did on the Alpine Clubs in Ketchum and Ely, NV article posted here.
