Hadn't seen that Palms chip, Ross. Thanks. Not likely it will ever be used by casinos to read the amount of a bet, as they need to read the value of a stack of chips, not just the one on top. But for advertising and tracking parts in a factory, it has many advantages.
I understand there is very strong error correction built into the code in the graphic. Was surprised to read they can read the content correctly even if someone like Palms prints their name or logo on top of the QR image.
It's an ISO standard now. I wonder if it will eventually replace single dimensional bar codes for product id on labels.
