You spend good money to buy a bunch of sticks to hit a bunch of balls. You pay good money at a place to hit the balls with the sticks. You hit the ball as far as you can with the stick, go find the ball (if you can) and hit the ball with the stick again.
You can do the same thing on a pool table for a lot less money, the playing surface is the same color (usually, unless you play at Pink'E's), the balls are bigger (that should count for something!), you have 6 holes to aim at instead of one, AND you won't get sunburned or struck by lightning playing pool.
.....and you can fit a pool table in your game room. I don't know anyone who can fit a golf course in their game room.
