I'm learning that when it comes to Macs, it's a whole new ballgame...

I tried downloading Malwarebytes, but while it said free. once it did a
scan, i was asked to purchase it. Tried the same thing with Mackeeper and,
once again, it performed a scan, then asked me to purchase it to remove all
the stuff.

I finally just renewed my license for CleanMyMac and will hope for the best.
