George James was also the founder of the Charlie Chester Casino and Golden Horseshoe Casino
both in London with partners (club owners Gazda & Karani), who wholly owned the Kingsway Casino in Swansea and
Beau Nash in Bristol acquired in 1987.
So by December 31, 1979 George James had four casinos - Charlie Chester, Golden Horseshoe,
opened in Dec 1966, Grand Casino Club Southport and the Kingsway Club also in Southport.
George James bought the Kingsway Café on July 1964, from Lucy Watkinson who founded it in 1930.
When George James retired he sold his 50% share of the two London casinos to his partners.
The Grand Casino, Southport was acquired by Stanley Leisure which became Mint Casino sold again
to Genting but abandoned with the casino license used in a new Genting venue.
