Jim, the bubble lined envelopes are cheap and work very well. If I was gonna send a very valuable chip, I'd pack it a box, then pack that box in another box, and send it via USPS insured. USPS insurance is the only service that I know of that will pay a claim on a casino chip at the value that you insure. UPS wil often deny the claim and you end up fighting them for months. I've had them deny claims where an item damaged could only have received the damage by being run over by the truck that the box fell out of...the parts were flattened by the wheels on a corner of the box, then put back into the box and re-taped. I've had claims denied on more than one occasion where a cast aluminum frame object was broken into four or more pieces and was told that poor packaging was the reason for the breakage. ...double boxed with styrofoam peanuts between the boxes and they were poorly packaged! I could drop the same piece off the roof of my biz and it MIGHT sustain the same damage! Bottom line, if you want to send anything valuable, don't trust the teamsters to handle it with care, and expect a denial of a damage claim after they break it.
