However, the Microsoft team will no longer support updates that have protected us for so long when security breaches were found in the XP operating system. What others are saying is hackers will try all kinds of ways to breach our security. Having said that, the Antivirus developers like Norton, etc. will continue to offer protection with updates to detect any intrusions into our computer systems. Also, be advised that Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 require different configurations of hardware for it to run successfully -- meaning that the minimum RAM will be higher (say going from 4 GB to possibly 8 GB, and the processor speed needs a faster speed. Just keep plugging with the XP until you get the edge. And, perhaps a third-party software developer may take on some fixes it the situation becomes dire. Hope this helps.
