My IT guy told me to just keep on running with XP and not to worry about it. As long as you're careful browsing, avoiding sites you're not fully comfortable with, no big deal. My computer with XP has lots of work related spreadsheets, etc. and, while all my files are backed up externally, I would be out of business for a while if anything happened. Hope someone more computer literate than you and I seem to be will jump in and confirm what I was told.
