I went from SO. Cal to Laughlin 4 times a year the past 20 years, to visit my brother who lived in Laughlin (now Passed away) so don't go anymore. Took Nipton Rd off of 15 to 95 south and passed cal-nev-ari casino, played BJ years ago. now slots only. One of the only Airports with a lighted dirt runway in US. Nancy the owner (husband passed away 15 yrs ago) he was a member of Air Force thunderbirds, was flying over this desert area (25 yreas ago) and saw green, and knew water was close to surface, so they homesteaded and purchised hundred ac. and built the small town. Now only cafe,casino,motel,small store, air strip,RV park, and modual homes, the old gas station was closed because of leaky tanks.She tried to sell the town a few years ago, and Mr. Laughlin was going to purchase, but economy went south, deal fell thru.
