LET’S TRADE
GRAND OPENING CHIPS
When I first started the category of Grand Opening, I included everything that had “Grand Opening” printed on the chip. There is a lot of Hotel, Restaurant, “L” Wing (Additions to existing Hotels) and Poker Room openings that seem to have taken an advantage of the collector along with the utilization of the advertising value of this special occasion, as well as being an announcement chip. In the future ( April 18, 2014) I will not include these “types” of chips.
I am going to try to keep only the true Grand Opening chips under the Grand Opening category. This will include Grand Re-Opening chips, which announces their Re-Opening (w/a different name) new ownership changes, after floods, fires etc. It will continue to include all Inaugural Voyages from cruise boats and gambling boats, also.
The other types will be sent over to one of the appropriate denom chip categories.
Hope this is something that will make the Grand Opening “Page of the Day” even more special when they are the Page of the Day.
If you notice something amidst the pages of the “New Grand Opening Chips”, that is not a true Grand Opening Chip, please identify it to me and send the information that makes it clear why it isn’t a G. O. And let me thank you right now for pointing this out to me.

ANGLE SHOOTERS, CHISLERS, LOW BALLERS & etc
First and foremost, let me make this perfectly clear that this does apply to .99&44/100% of us.
There seems to be a very small amount of chip collectors from time to time visit us on our blog boards and conventions, that just cannot shoot straight. These are the kind; that get you once, and then they try it again. (And, if they do it again, it is on you, of course)
I have had a few of these types, attempt various things over the years to me, and many of my friends and customers. I think something needs to be done to help prevent these actions from happening; but I fall short of creating black lists or airing dirty laundry in public. I am always available for any kind of discussion, with like- minded “chippers”.
The best part of being a member of the CC-GTCC is that it narrows these types down to .99&88/100%. One thing; I do, do is save emails as a CYA policy. Also, I try to re-write any response to any actions of any scenarios, I find myself in; several times during a 24 hour period of time, instead of firing off a knee-jerk reaction. Be advised that I do trade & sell to many non-members, but sometimes it takes a while to gain trust with non-members and vice-versa.
One big problem has always been the USPS. There always seems to be a different set of circumstances that surround each “lost shipment”. What to do? Does the shipper or customer take the hit, or both? This seems to be the way some collectors acquire their chips, have you noticed?
And my biggest question: do we have on file somewhere procedures to follow in these circumstances? If not, is it about time? And lastly; should I just delete this last question? And stay out of this problem. And handle these things as they develop one at a time. Your thoughts on the matter would be highly appreciated. Sincerely; Reggie…
