Regarding the Christy/Jones Shiny H/C...

Again, the primary question was in perspective to where the chips came from. The Christy/Jones aspect was only a follow-on in perhaps being able to 'date' the chips.

But as David Spragg has indicated, recognizing shiny hat and canes can be difficult from scans, and a photo needs to be done with a flash, and at an angle, which does not yield a good picture. So many photographed shiny hat and cane chips tend not to show the reflection.

So.....

Here are two images of the Christy/Jones shiny hat and cane generic chips. The top one is a scan and the bottom one is a digital photograph of the burgundy chip (on the right).


Even when this type of chip gets old and used, those hats still tend to reflect light like a mirror!
