Don; I used the term "redeemed" in the same context as "cashed in". Silver Dollars and Silver Certificates can still be cashed in for face value at any bank. In fact, any coin that the U.S. government has ever issued can still be cashed in (redeemed) for face value.... and I believe that any U.S. government issued paper money ever issued can still be cashed in (redeemed) for it's face value.
