Cale, now hold on a sec....

The more I look at the dark camel/light camel "variation" the more it looks like one side is just faded. It's what Jay Sands from TCR believes causes these variations. I just haven't gotten around to pulling it yet from The Chip Guide. I will work on it tonight.

I am NOT convinced that the colors of the inlay have faded at all. While there may be an issue with the white inlay, although the second scan (undoctored) belies what I just said, I want to focus on the inks and not the inlay.

UV light, whether from the sun or lighting, will affect certain colors first (like red) before other colors, but the red coloration of the word "SAHARA" and the trim around the camel and rider, are nearly the same. However, there is a different in the browns of the camels and that difference reflective of the light vs. dark versions, especially in the absence of all other colors being nearly the same between both chips.

So Michael, in your second post, are we looking at 2 different scans, or one scan of both chips and you added the divider?

If 2 different scans, can you re-scan as a single pass and have both the chips side-by-side and touching?

Is this a known variation? Sahara L.V.
Looks to me that the sun got to one side.
Interesting... Here is another look
Forgot to pay tribute...
We will likely pull this variation from $1
Thank you Cal and others

I guess it depends on a single scan...
