I finally decided to take the plunge and get my convention airplane tickets since it was getting late. Had to pay up ($437) but some of that was paid with last years bump certificates. But I got really bad travel times including a red eye on the way home. I am hoping that they will cut rates on some flights before the convention but for the return trip they have about half of the flights listed as unavailable which is why I booked now. One advantage of Southwest is they don't charge to rebook a flight. The few flights available on Monday are $350 and up one way from Las Vegas. If you have not booked your flights yet I would do it now since the Electric Daisy Carnival is that same weekend and many flights seem to be full on Sunday and Monday. Regular airline fares are as high as $450-$550 on Travelocity. At these rates it is not surprising that the airlines are finally making a profit.
