Once upon a time, our club set up a hospitality table at the F.U.N. Convention for several years. We had brochures/membership applications stacked at our table as well as free copies of our fine magazine... We also had a few other handouts and woods that were both large and expertly made... and we had meetings with pretty good attendace and virtually filling the meeting room... Archie and Brenda would man the table as well as Janice and Jerry... and for a few years after that I ran the table along with exhibiting what we as a group collected... but I went a little further by actually bringing Dale Seymour's book to life -- displaying the main body of tbe book along with trying to attract European visitors with casino pieces of casinos they knew about, but showing them the early-on pieces that many did not know even existed. Several of up made life-long friendships with visitors who were willing to find pieces for our collections as we were also willing to help them locate what they were searching for here in the states... Some of us provided information for authors who were writing books covering material from their country but had very limited information while some of us put them in direct contact with those who actually designed and produced those vintage pieces from their country along with showing them pkeces they never knew existed.
We fully made ourselves known as we do today at the A.N.A.... though in my opinion, the A.N.A. alone is not enough in order to meet face-to-face with those we would gladly welcome.
The world we live in is very, very small
