You can never be sure, but I believe the company doing the re-dyeing didn't pay attention to any carving along the rim. Most re-dyes had fairly thick borders. The original dye would always be done outside of any rings or leaves

Note that you can see the raised rim as well as an inner ring. Who knows what the original rim color was. One thing for sure, a thin brown rim would look nicer than the completely dipped chip as shown.
